This page explains how to delete your Tazkir account and the data associated with it, with or without the app, which data is deleted, and which data is kept and for how long. Tazkir is developed by Abdullah Onur Şimşek (Berry Film&ART).

1. First: cancel any active subscription

Deleting your account does NOT cancel an active Tazkir Pro subscription. To avoid further charges, cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings before deleting your account. Subscriptions, payments and refunds are handled by Apple and Google.

2. Delete your account in the app (fastest)

  • Open Tazkir and go to the Profile tab.
  • Tap Settings.
  • In the Account section, tap “Account details”.
  • Tap “Delete account” at the bottom of the page and confirm.

In short: Profile › Settings › Account details › Delete account.

For your security, you may be asked to sign in again before the deletion is confirmed: if you signed in with Apple or Google, sign in again with that account; if you registered with email, re-enter your password. Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

If you want to keep your account and delete only your saved hadiths, use “Delete my saves” on the same page.

3. Request deletion without the app (by email)

If you can no longer access the app (for example, because you uninstalled it or changed devices), send an email from the address registered to your account to contact@berryfilm.art with the subject “Tazkir – account deletion request”. Please include:

  • Your sign-in method: Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or email and password.
  • If you used “Hide My Email” with Sign in with Apple, the Apple relay address linked to your account (…@privaterelay.appleid.com). You can find it in your Apple Account settings under “Sign in with Apple”.

Once we receive your request, we verify that the account belongs to you and may ask for additional verification if needed. Verified requests are completed within 30 days at the latest, and we will let you know by email once the deletion is complete.

4. Guest use (no account)

If you use Tazkir as a guest without creating an account, your data is tied not to your identity but to an anonymous user identifier linked to your device. For this reason, we cannot match an email request to this data.

  • Local data on your device (reading statistics, recently read items, app preferences) is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
  • To delete your guest data on our servers (saved hadiths, preferences, notification settings), use in-app deletion: Profile › Settings › Account details › Delete account. This option is also available to guests; we recommend using it before you uninstall the app.

5. What is deleted

  • Your account profile: name, email address, sign-in method and user identifier
  • Your saved hadiths
  • Your notification preferences (notification time, time zone) and the notification tokens of your devices
  • Your other preferences stored on our servers and your records of accepted terms
  • Subscription ownership records linking a subscription to your account, and the subscription status stored in your account
  • Your data export (“Send me my data”) requests and account-merge records

This data is permanently deleted from our servers (Google Firebase, EU region — Frankfurt) as soon as your account is deleted.

6. What is kept, and for how long

  • Purchase and billing records: kept by Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) under their own policies and managed by the stores. We never receive your payment details.
  • The store transaction identifier of a refunded or expired subscription may be kept, with its link to your account removed (the user identifier is deleted), to prevent misuse of the same purchase.
  • Security counters: rate-limit records used to prevent abuse (only a timestamp and a counter; no name, email or content) are kept for up to 90 days.
  • Emails we sent you as part of a data export may remain in our mail system's sent folder for up to 30 days.
  • Analytics and crash data (Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics) are not linked to your name or email address and are deleted automatically within these services' retention periods (at most 14 months for analytics, 90 days for crash reports). Advertising data (Google AdMob) is processed by Google as an independent controller under its own policies.
  • Data we are legally required to keep may be retained for the period required by law.
